Speaking in 1862 about the Civil War, President Lincoln reportedly greeted Harriet Beecher Stowe as “the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war.” Her years in Cincinnati influenced her writing of that book, “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.”

Ms. Hartlieb will share stories about Harriet Beecher Stowe including: her years in Cincinnati; the importance of the house itself; current restoration work; and the programs and tours currently offered by the Harriet Beecher Stowe House.
