GAPP (Greater Anderson Promotes Peace) and Heritage UU Church are committed to the work of dismantling racism in our country. As part of an ongoing series of dialogues, they are co-sponsoring a screening and discussion of the film The Color of Fear, one of the most powerful and influential documentaries about race relations, on Saturday, January 16, 9:30 AM-12:30 PM, at Heritage UU Church, 2710 Newtown Rd. in Anderson Township. The film documents a weekend retreat with 8 men, two African American, two Latino, two Asian American and two Caucasian, to explore the impact of racism in their lives. Most people seldom have an opportunity, like the men in this film did, for a deep, personal, poignant conversation about the effects of racism. Through the courage of these men, we can step into this vulnerable space with them, and see through their eyes. Dialogue following the film will invite participants to explore this challenging topic. This program is free and open to the public. Pre-registation is requested at info@gappeace.org. Just email your name and your intent to attend.
