GAPP is holding our 13th annual New Year’s Day Candlelight Vigil at the Peace Pole Garden in Beech Acres Park, 6910 Salem Avenue, Anderson Township, on Monday, January 1, at 5:00 PM. The vigil will be a Celebration of the Human Family. On this first day of the year, many people’s hearts turn to the dream and vision of humankind living together in harmony. Participants are invited to bring a brief reading to share that speaks to this theme, such as a poem, a meaningful quote, a prayer, a story of deepening understanding, or a concern to lift up in hope. Readings will be interspersed with moments of silent reflection. Candles are provided for use during the event. The vigil will conclude at 5:30 p.m. Bundle up and join your neighbors to start the year in a spirit of harmony and community!
The Peace Pole Garden is a public art installation that symbolizes our community’s commitment to neighborly inclusion, embracing different cultures and faith traditions.
