On Wednesday, April 8 at 7pm, Greater Anderson Promotes Peace (GAPP) and Eastern Hills Friends Meeting will host a gathering to pray for peace. Everyone is invited to join us at the Friends Meeting House, located at 1671 Nagel Rd. in Anderson Township.
“Alone, we feel powerless to respond to the violence in our communities and in the world. Together we affirm that the desire for peace is strong and that God’s love and light may enter where we cannot.” Said Martha Viehmann of Eastern Hills Friends Meeting.
GAPP and Eastern Hills Friends pray that peace may come wherever violence threatens. We hope that our prayers will be a catalyst for change, just as prayer meetings in East Berlin laid the groundwork for the fall of the Berlin Wall over twenty years ago.
In line with Quaker (Friends) practice, the evening will begin in silence; then all who are moved to pray aloud may do so. After prayer, there will be refreshments and time for conversation. All are welcome.
