GAPP DISCUSSION: We Care about FHSD
There is a lot of concern and confusion about the protests against critical race theory in school districts and state houses across the country. In Anderson Township, the Forest Hills School District is under attack for teaching and promoting “divisive” concepts. Some parents are protesting words like diversity, equity and inclusion.
GAPP’s tagline has always been “diversity, understanding and inclusion.” We think these words and concepts belong in our communities and in our schools. In this discussion, we’ll offer some thoughts and insights on the political machinations that appear to be underpinning these protests. We’ll also discuss ways to support our schools and respond to these attacks at the local and state levels.
